Many of the locals as well as foreigner travellers want to spend some quality time with their families in and out of Kalpitiya. There are plenty of famous places which can be visited within 2 to 3 hours whilst lodging at the hotel. We would like to brief the following places as we have already discussed those below

Kite Surfing

Kalpitiya beach is the perfect kite surfing destination for beginners and advanced riders, with steady wind and shallow water. We also offer training for beginners. Our resort is designed to give our kite surfing friends the comfort they need after a windy day on the water.

 

 


Dolphin and Blue Whale Watching

Dolphin and Blue Whale watching is one of the main attractions in Kalpitiya. You will get the opportunity to view large pods of spinner, bottlenose and Indo-Pacific humpback dolphins, Blue whales, sea turtles, and the elusive Dugong.

Wilpattu National Park Safari

Wilpattu National Park is located on the 30 kms north of Puttalam. Wilpattu Natonal Park is home for many villus, or natural lakes which dot the landscape in the Wilpattu National Park. There are approximately 30 species of mammals in the Wilpattu National Park which include the Sri Lankan Elephant, Leopard, Sloth Bear, Spotted Deer, Buffalo, Sambar and Mongoose.


Kalpitiya Lagoon Tour and Island Hopping

Kite boat trips and safari around the Kalpitiya and Puttalam Lagoons, Vella Island, Donkey Point, are some of the famous activities in Kalpitiya among locals as well as foreign tourists. The trips can be organised either on a daily or weekly basis. However, we are flexible to cater to your specific needs as well.

Bar Reef Kalpitiya / Diving and Snorkelling

The Kalpitiya reef is the largest coral reef (307 square km) in Sri Lanka. It serves as the ideal sea for keen scuba divers and snorkelers. The beautiful reef, exceedingly rich in bio-diversity, is home to an incredible variety of tropical fish, moray eels, octopus, stingrays and sea turtles. ⁠We’ve teamed up with a local dive centre to offer you diving excursions and PADI courses. Scuba diving and snorkeling trips can also be coupled with the dolphin and whale watching excursions.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress

Sigiriya Rock Fortress is one of the UNESCO World Heritage sites in Sri Lanka. It is also one of the must see destinations in Sri Lanka. It will take 3 Hours and 30 Minutes to travel from The Blue Lagoon Resort to Sigiriya.


Ancient City of Anuradhapura

Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sri Lankan civilization. The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the centre of Theravada Buddhism for many centuries. The ancient city, considered sacred to the Buddhist world, is today surrounded by monasteries covering an area of over sixteen square miles (40 km²).

Dambulla Cave Temple

Dambulla cave temple also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a World Heritage Site (1991) in Sri Lanka, situated in the central part of the country. Dambulla is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. It will take 3 Hours 30 Minutes to reach Dambulla


Sacred City of Kandy

Kandy, the cultural capital of Sri Lanka, a World Heritage Site sits pretty in a valley surrounded by rings of mountains, 115km away from the seaport of Colombo. Right in the heart of the city center of Kandy is the man-made lake called Kiri Muhuda (Sinhala: the sea of milk), the one and only decorative lake in Sri Lanka. All other thousands of man-made reservoirs in Sri Lanka are developed primarily for the purposes of irrigation, and secondarily for the purposes of general use and wildlife conservation.
